U18 Tournament

U18 hockey tournament Nova Scotia, Eastern Canada, Atlantic Canada, Quebec, Ontario, Northeastern United States and Europe

Under eighteen years of age hockey players in the A, AA, AAA, B and C divisions are eligible to play in the SEDHMA Honda Minor Hockey Tournament being held in April throughout the Halifax Regional Municipality in Nova Scotia.

The tournament began during the 1977-78 season as a holiday tournament and saw 136 Nova Scotia players participate in its inaugural year.  It is about to enter its fourth decade and is poised to exceed 300 teams while continuing to be Eastern Canada’s premier minor hockey event.  Ninety per cent of the teams taking part have come from Atlantic Canada, while the remainder are from Quebec, Ontario, the Northeastern United States and Europe.

The SEDMHA tournament is Hockey Canada-sanctioned and covered by Hockey USA insurance if the team has an approved travel permit, which can be obtained by contacting your district registrar and requesting a Canadian travel permit. USA Hockey-registered players have to wear all of the protective equipment required by USA Hockey's rules while playing in Canada. For non-North American teams the tournament will work with your team to send a letter to your Hockey Federation to extend a tournament invitation and arrange all necessary permits.
