U9 Jamboree

U9 hockey Jamboree Nova Scotia, Eastern Canada, Atlantic Canada, Quebec, Ontario, Northeastern United States and Europe

Under 9 years of age hockey players in the development, advancing and intermediate levels are eligible to take part in the SEDHMA Honda Minor Hockey Tournament being held this April throughout the Halifax Regional Municipality in Nova Scotia.

The tournament began during the the 1977-78 hockey season as a holiday tournament that saw 136 Nova Scotia players participate in its first year. It is about to enter its fourth decade and is poised to exceed 300 teams, while it continues to be Eastern Canada’s premier minor hockey event.  Ninety per cent of the participating teams have come from Atlantic Canada, while the remainder are teams from Quebec, Ontario, the Northeastern United States and Europe.

The SEDMHA tournament is a Hockey Canada-sanctioned event covered by Hockey USA insurance as long as the teams have an approved travel permit. That permit can be obtained by contacting your district registrar and requesting a Canadian travel permit. USA Hockey-registered players are required to wear all of the protective equipment required by USA Hockey's rules while in Canada. For non-North American teams the tournament will work with your team to ensure a letter is sent to your hockey federation to extend a tournament invitation and arrange all necessary permits.
